Business Manager

Melanie has a unique perspective for her role as Business Manager at Design Works Studio. She grew up seeing her Mom, Donna Davis, develop and expand the interior design business she founded in 1984. Melanie’s interests were more in business and finance than design; however, and she graduated from North Carolina State University in 2004 with a degree in Business Management and Marketing concentration. After working several years in the marketing field, an opportunity to manage the family business was offered, and since 2007 she has greatly contributed to the present success of the company.

Melanie wears many hats, from managing financials and employees, to marketing and client services. Her role requires leadership, attention to detail, focus and overall vision…in which she serves the company well. Clients find Melanie a great resource for questions about their orders and billing, and her promptness, efficiency, and genuine friendliness makes the process a smooth one for both clients and staff.

Away from work, Melanie enjoys spending time with her husband, John, and sons, Jordan and Camden. With two active boys, her life can be really busy…but so much fun! Her family enjoys attending Wolfpack sporting events, volunteering at church, traveling to the beach and the mountains, playing sports and spending time with extended family and friends.
